One of the features of Wonderful Wednesdays is offering activities that allow you to learn new skills. In October you will have two specific opportunities to learn. You can learn how to Square Dance with Butch and Ginny, which you can learn more about by clicking here. The other opportunity is a three class session on how to blog that I am teaching.
Another common term for blogging when used in the business or non-profit sense, is content marketing. I have been writing a blog for Design Resumes since 2008. Implementing this content marketing strategy changed my business model. Now I would like to share that experience with you.
Classes I teach are taught interactively and focus on the student’s questions as a way to be sure I am targeting what you really want to know. This strategy has worked well whenever I have taught social media, resume writing, or job search. All are welcome whether you belong to Wesley or just want to learn blogging.
If members of Wesley would like to help with this Wesley UMC blog, this class will teach you all you need to know and you will always be able to have me help get your great content up on the site. But if you just want to blog because you love to write, or you have a small business and want a way to share your content with Wausau, Wisconsin, the United States, and the world, I can teach you how.
Implementing these strategies coupled with my love of writing has helped me expand Design Resumes from a primarily local business to one that has clients throughout the United States and in far away places like Greece, Saudi Arabia, Canada, and the UK.
What, When and Where?
Blogging with Julie
Classes will be held Wednesdays, October 10, 17, and 24 from 6:30pm to 7:45pm in Room 109 at Wesley United Methodist Church. You will learn the mechanics of writing a blog using WordPress platform, resources for blogging, how to implement social media sharing strategies, samples of top quality blogs and bloggers, and how to use your love of writing in a new way.
If you want to bring your own laptop to help you take notes or bookmark sites, I will be teaching from the projector so all can see the same screen. Everyone is welcome.
If you have questions, you can contact me (Julie Walraven) at 715-574-5263 and by email at email@example.com or find me on Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or LinkedIn.
