About Wesley

Wesley United Methodist Church is a local Congregation who gather to Worship, learn and grow in our Christian faith. Our Congregation is made up of families, singles, and our families come from Wausau and the surrounding communities.

We are a multi-Cultural Congregation worshipping in English and Hmong languages. We worship together for Communion the first Sunday of each month and separately most other Sundays. In the Methodist tradition our Communion Service and the sharing of the Elements are open to every Christian. Both our English and Hmong Worship Services gather at 10:00am with the English in the Sanctuary and the Hmong service in the Chapel.

We believe that as United Methodist we are a part of the Body of Christ and joyfully serve in ministry to our Church, our Community, our nation and the world with Christians from other faith families to make a positive impact on our world.

We invite you will join us for Worship of the Triune God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit as we grow together in faith, love and grace.

Rev. Ethan L. Larson

Welcome to Wesley UMC in Wausau, Wisconsin

My name is Rev. Ethan L. Larson and I have been privileged to be the lead Pastor here at Wesley since July of 2018.  I am in my 32nd year of ministry in Wisconsin United Methodist Church and have served Church in rural, small town and urban settings.

I have found my time at Wesley to be a joy and have enjoyed getting to know not just our congregation but also the City of Wausau and its surrounding communities.  While here I have taught several classes including a Bible study and one on other religions and how they compare and contrast to the Christian faith.
