First Hmong United Methodist Church in Charlotte, North Carolina is seeking support from Wesley UMC to build a new church for its members. First Hmong UMC has been in ministry since 1990. The Ministry has been utilizing Vine UMC in Charlotte, NC to worship God as well as to do outreach to the Hmong community in the Charlotte area. For many years, members of the Ministry had a goal of building a church that would allow the Ministry to grow as it continues to serve the community.
Members of First Hmong UMC  purchased a piece of land in 1995 for the purpose of building a new church. They have been fundraising for the past several years in an effort to move to the construction phase. As of September, 2019, the Ministry was able to raise $250,000 out of a total of $400,000 needed to complete the church building project.
First Hmong UMC is seeking financial support from our church and other churches to make the church building project a reality. Wesley UMC plans to donate its loose coins in the month of January 2020, along with any donations from its members, to help First Hmong UMC with its church building project.
